Jotti’s malware scan

Jotti’s malware scan is a free online service which lets users upload files (up to a certain size limit) and have them analyzed by several different antivirus (AV) engines simultaneously. It is useful for getting a second opinion on whether a file is malicious, especially when you're unsure about downloading or executing it.

You can also search by hash (i.e. a fingerprint of a file) to see if it has already been scanned, use a simple API, and view results from multiple AV vendors.

1. Multi-AV scanning: Upload a file and it is checked by several antivirus engines (Avast, BitDefender, Kaspersky, etc.) to see if any detect malware.
2. File upload:You can submit up to 5 files at once.
3. File size limit: Each file can be up to 250 MB.
4. Search by hash: If you have a file’s hash (e.g., MD5, SHA-1, SHA-256), you can see if that file has already been scanned.
5. API access: There is an API you can use to submit scans or query existing results programmatically.
6. Privacy / sharing: Files are shared with AV companies so they can improve detection. There is some privacy policy in place.
